Welcome to the “Gospel for Today”
Web site! Marcy and I are very
fortunate to have the platform that the Lord has given us to encourage
you in the faith and we are exceedingly grateful both for His
graciousness and for your support. Thank you for standing firm with us
in proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and what he has
accomplished for all mankind through the cross. Marcy and I hope that in some
small way we can be a resource and an oasis for you when you need to be
reminded of the core, foundational truths of the gospel.

Over
100 Scriptures
supporting our belief that, among other things, God is absolutely sovereign, His purposes for mankind cannot be thwarted, and
at
the end of the ages, He will
save all men because of His love for all
demonstrated through the cross of Jesus Christ. Now
these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for
they received the word with great eagerness, examining the
Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so.

Many of you are probably wondering why
we chose to name this ministry, “Gospel For Today”. Well, it was
mainly for two reasons. First, we believe that there is a specific gospel
that is to be preached at this time in history. Secondly, we believe that
a man’s confidence in what this gospel declares that Jesus has already
done, will have the most profound effect upon not only his thinking, but
his actions.
The revelation of the gospel of the
grace of God given directly to the apostle Paul by the risen Christ is
the gospel in which you and I now stand. It is radical, practical, and
biblical. It is radical because it declares that God has already
reconciled the entire world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19), that He
will make the same "many" who were sinners in Adam righteous
in Christ (Romans 5:19), and that He will have all men to be saved and
to come to the knowledge of the truth...to be testified in due time (1
Timothy 2:4-6). These spiritual blessings, and all others that
mankind will enjoy, are a result of the Person and work of Jesus Christ plus nothing.
This gospel is practical because it
works (1 Thes. 2:13; Col. 1:3-6). There is something inherently powerful
about hearing and, most importantly, believing this remarkable message
of hope and peace. No ten-step method, no recommitment to do better, no
formula for spiritual success will ever produce the lasting,
deeply-rooted changes in a man or woman’s attitude and behavior like simply believing the
gospel that proclaims Jesus is the Savior of the World (1 John 4:14).
And who is it that believes? It is those whom God has graciously chosen
to reveal the gospel to and has chosen to give them the faith by which
to believe it. All will one day know and believe.
And for
this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us
the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but
for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in
you who believe.

And, finally, it is biblical. When the
word of God is handled correctly and divided accurately, it reveals that
the gospel Paul received from the risen Christ to be taken to all
men has a distinctiveness to it that sets it apart from (not
against) the gospel that the earthly Christ and the 12 apostles
all taught.
In the weeks,
months, and years to come, we hope to explore with you more and more of
what God has done through Christ to secure our righteousness in Him. We
look forward to being able to encourage you in the faith and to remind
you of every spiritual blessing that you already have in Him. We long for
you to have such confidence in God’s love for you that much of the anxiety, condemnation, and fear
that you struggle with becomes a thing of the past.
As you continue to renew your mind on all that
you now have in Christ because of his great love for you, the more you
will experience peace of mind, joy, security, and contentment no matter what life brings
your way.
Gospel For
Today Ministries’ primary goal is to help establish you in the faith,
to encourage with the news that you are now
and forever more a righteous saint. Not because of your works but solely
because of His. The great majority of “ministries” out there today
place extraordinary emphasis on what Christians ought to be doing or not
doing, many times insinuating that it is those actions that determine
our standing before God. As we have stated before, Marcy and I are 100%
behind the goal of us all loving one another. Yahoo, let’s do it!
However, when preaching morality and ethics takes precedence over
proclaiming the gospel for today, we have missed our fundamental calling
as “ministries” and equippers of the saints.
